How to read Winamp WMV files.

I have a problem reading WMV files.

Last weekend, I offered you freshly installed Windows ME and Winamp before setting up a simple internet connection. Therefore, the installation program used the checkbox and “Load installation codecs”.

Now I notice that Winamp does not play WMV files, it crashes when I try to do this. I now used the “K-Lite Mega Codec Pack” which allowed Winamp to handle all other formats like DivX, XVid, MP4, MOV, etc. surprisingly well.

But only WMV is not played. Note. I made sure that in the K-Lite MegaCodec Pack installer the option “HaveGet Windows 9 Media VCM ”. I assume it is installed …?

Okay, now Winamp WMV introduces a replay threat via the in_wm plugin. What I have done now is add “; WMV” to the list of in_dshow extensions, because I thought it would then take advantage of the newly installed WM9 codec that comes with the KLite codec pack. But somehow Winamp tries to read these files around in_wm, it won’t crash anyway. He just won’t play.

Note that this sound will play correctly, you just shouldn’t be able to see the image.

So my market question was you:

1. What can I do?

Last week I installed new Windows ME and Winamp before setting up my internet connection. So the checkbox and “Install download codecs” in the installer were useless to me.

Is Winamp still good 2020?
