Close all programs.
On the Windows taskbar, click Start> Run.
In the Run dialog box, enter: regedit

In the right pane, double-click the following value:
CommandSendTimeout
Enter the following for DWORD only in the appropriate field for value data:

Close the registry editor.

To increase the number of data feeds available to the Symantec Mail Security process:

Click Start> Run from this Windows taskbar.
In the Run dialog box, enter:

regedit
Click OK.
Go to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Software Symantec SMSMSE Server Components NaveCtrl
Double-click the value you want to use in the right pane:
InputThreadCount
In the Value field, enter the following for the DWORD:

is the number multiplied by 2. Restart the Symantec Mail Security service after each change. Continue increasing the number of channels until you no longer display event ID 348.

Close the registry editor.

Digitally signed messages are sent to the server

Corrupted virus definitions lead to to the failure of the diagnostic scanning process.

If this event is also returned with event ID 167, 168, and 110 ’68, it is likely that the virus definitions are corrupted and need to be fixed. Open regedit
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Symantec SMSMSE 6.5 Server
Create a new DWORD named UseSMTPTransportSinkForTransportVirusScanning
Set the key to 1
Restart the SMSMSE service.
Reset IIS: Choose Start> Run, type iisreset

Follow all content filtering rules.
Change the content filtering rules from “Apply rule to: inbound messages” to “Apply rule to: internal messages (store)”
