You should read these troubleshooting tips if Service Pack3 configuration error is detected on your PC.
To ensure that you have a good experience installing Windows XP SP3, always check that your computer is ready to install Windows XP SP3. Note. If your computer is using Windows XP Home Edition, skip this step. ASR is not available for XP Windows Home Edition.
If your computer is running Windows XP Professional, we recommend that you create a new Automatic System Recovery (ASR) kit before starting the installation. This will help you restore your configuration if the installation fails. To create an automatic system recovery entry from a backup, follow these steps:
By default, any wizard or wizard for restoring from a backup is launched, unless the program is disabled. You can use the Backup or Restore wizard to create an Automatic System Recovery (ASR) kit.
Important. You will use a blank 1.44 MB floppy disk to save your system settings and the media that actually contains the backup files.

If you are using Internet Explorer 7 or Internet Explorer 8, please note that you cannot return to Internet Explorer 3 after upgrading to Windows XP SP3.

When you try to install Windows XP SP3, you may receive one of the following error messages:
949377 Error message when trying to install Windows XP Service Pack 3: “Access Denied” or “Service Pack Installation Not Complete”
951244 Error message when trying to install a hotfix or good update: “You cannot update Windows XP”
949384 Error message when trying to install Windows XP SP3: “An internal error has occurred”
Digital Signature Not Found – Microsoft’s digital signature is verified when testing software with Windows because the software has not been modified since testing.
The software you will definitely install was not digitally signed by Microsoft. As such, there is no refund policy that says this software will work properly on Windows.
