    I’m working on setting up a very simple .remoting global connection, but can’t appear in a magic spell.

    I have a shared hosting class that serves as a live singleton for service process metrics.

    public class MyRemoteServerClass: MarshalByRefObject    public void DoSomething()            System.Diagnostics.Trace.Assert(false);        Ignore public object InitializeLifetimeService()            return null;

    Based on some of my knowledge of .Net remoting, I wrote this unique code to instantiate and register a machine class with a service:

    requested service not found remoting

     sound void Main(string[] args)            Server MyRemoteServerClass = new MyRemoteServerClass();        TcpChannel channel = new TcpChannel (8080);        ChannelServices.RegisterChannel(channel, false);        loop = url "tcp://localhost:8080/MyRemoteServerClass";        RemotingServices.Marshal(Server, URL, Server.GetType());        System.Console.ReadLine();

    I wrote this coupon code in a .Net WinForms client to call MyRemoteServerClass.Function:

     dosomething' professional void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)            string url="tcp://localhost:8080/MyRemoteServerClass";        ChannelServices.RegisterChannel(new TcpChannel(), false);        MyRemoteSserverClass root = Activator.GetObject(typeof(MyRemoteServerClass), url) as MyRemoteServerClass;        Root. do something();

    A call to Activate.GetObject appears to get a proxy reference to the MyRemoteServerClass server instance. However, when I call DoSomething I get a “The requested service was not found” exception.

    Search the server stack: at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.BinaryServerFormatterSink.ProcessMessage(IServerChannelSinkStack tankStack, IMessage requestMsg, ITransportHeaders requestHeaders, Stream requestStream, IMessage& responseMsg, ITransportHeaders& responseHeaders, Stream& responseStream)

    An exception is thrown for [0] only: at System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.RealProxy.HandleReturnMessage(IMessage reqMsg, IMessage retMsg) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.RealProxy.PrivateInvoke(MessageData and msgData, type Int32) In RemoteExampleServer.MyRemoteServerClass.DoSomething() at RemoteExampleClient.Form1.button1_Click(Object sender, EventArgs in e) c:AaronRemoteExampleClientForm1.cs:line 30} System.Exception System.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingException

    What am I doing wrong? I found that access to these applications is allowed through the firewall (and I get exactly the same behavior when I usually disable the firewall completely). There is no other software protection on my computer.

    PS. I prefer solutions that don’t require changes to the App.config XML file. If theis it possible, I would like to set up its a .Net remote connection in code space.

    I am trying to set up a better network connection. Very simple remoting and I can’t figure out the miracle challenge.

    I have a server side class that should probably be a singleton and served for the duration of a business process.

    Public class MyRemoteServerClass: MarshalByRefObject    client is invalid DoSomething()            System.Diagnostics.Trace.Assert(false);        public replacement object InitializeLifetimeService()            returns null;

    requested service not found remoting

    Based on what I learned about .Net remote communication, I wrote this code to further instantiate and register the server class with the service:

     static void Main(string[] args)            The server MyRemoteServerClass implies new MyRemoteServerClass();        TcpChannel channel = new TcpChannel (8080);        ChannelServices.RegisterChannel(channel, false);        string = URL "tcp://localhost:8080/MyRemoteServerClass";        RemotingServices.Marshal(Server, URL, Server.GetType());        System.Console.ReadLine();

    I put this code in .Net buyer winforms to call MyRemoteServerClass.DoSomething function:

     private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)            web link string = "tcp://localhost:8080/MyRemoteServerClass";        ChannelServices.RegisterChannel(new TcpChannel(), false);        MyRemoteServerClass is equal to the root Activator.GetObject(typeof(MyRemoteServerClass), url) as MyRemoteServerClass;        root.DoSomething();

    The call to Activate.GetObject seems to reach a proxy reference to the host instance of MyRemoteServerClass. However, when I contact “DoSomething” I get a “Service requested but not actually found” exception.

    Server stack trace: at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.BinaryServerFormatterSink.ProcessMessage(IServerChannelSinkStack sincStack, RequestMsg, imessage ITransportHeaders requestHeaders, Stream requestStream, IMessage& responseMsg, ITransportHeaders& responseHeaders, Stream& responseStream)

    Exception is thrown via [0]: on System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.RealProxy.HandleReturnMessage(IMessage reqMsg, IMessage on retMsg) System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.RealProxy.PrivateInvoke(MessageData& msgData, type Int32) on RemoteExampleServer.
