In 1995, SCO acquired all rights to the UnixWare distributed system and its System V Release 4 code root from Novell. Over time, SCO was able to reuse code from its version of UnixWare in later releases with OpenServer. Prior to version 6, this was actually added to the build system, UDI driver, and USB subsystem structure.

UnXis / Xinuos Rights (2011 – Present Hui )
OpenServer as well as UnixWare were chosen by UnXis in 2011, which was soon renamed Xinuos.
In June 2015, Xinuos announced OpenServer 10 based on the FreeBSD 10 operating system. At the same time, Xinuos introduced a significant migration path for existing customers with legacy OS products. In December 2015, Xinuos released “final” versions of OpenServer 5, OpenServer six easy, UnixWare and 7.
In December 2017, Xinuos 2018 “” released the latest versions of OpenServer # 6 and UnixWare 7, and OpenServer 5 Definitive 2018 in October 2018. The “Definitive 2018” releases were Xinuos’ commitment to support legacy, updated operating systems and help secure applications that targeted visitors should continue to run. Definitive 2018 Products contain important updates to their final releases and an upcoming SDK update that will make it easier to create the latest packages for Definitive 2018 products.
Xinuos may still provide updates for the new flagship OpenServer 10 system.
