This section describes a step-by-step setup procedure for Windows NT. In the example in the appendix, we will install Windows NT completely on the second partition of the hard drive, assuming that Windows 98 is already mounted on the first partition.

Before you can lock down Windows from NT or upgrade Windows to NT from DOS or Windows 9x, there are some preparations you need to make.
To determine if your hardware supports Windows NT, start your search with HCL. If the phone on your system does not come with a specific hcl, contact the manufacturer one for the Windows Zun nt driver. (Remember that if the club isn’t there you can’t use the device with NT) Windows Make sure you have enough space on your hard drive. Windows NT requires 120 MB of disk space in your home for the installation itself, and more if the total cluster size is large. One floppy drive and one CD-ROM drive are required. For computers or laptops without a CD-ROM drive, Windows should be able to install an NT server from a suitable network.
How do I make a Windows 98 boot CD-ROM?
insert a floppy disk into drive A:. From the Start menu, select Settings, then Control Panel.Double-click Add or Remove Programs.Click on the boot disk.Once this process is complete, test your hard drive by leaving it in Boost mode and clicking Start, then Shutdown, and restarting your computer.
If you are using Intel software, you can use the NT Hardware Qualifier (NTHQ) programon the Windows NT installation CD to determine if your product can run Windows NT. To use the Qualifier, boot from the hard drive you copied the program to and the la resource will check your system to determine if all existing hardware is NT compliant. Follow the instructions below to use the All nt Hardware Qualifier.
- Insert boot disk A.
- Open the Windows CD in Windows 9x nt Explorer or Windows 3.x Manager, run and program. SupportHqtoolMakeDisk.bat. NT windows then creates a Hardware Qualifier disk.
- Boot from the newly created drive. In the future, a message will appear on your awesome screen:
You can see how NT tells you that an item creates a RAM disk and vice versa creates files on it. Then a screen will surely appear informing you that the report generated by the utility will take a few minutes and that it will also be written to disk, but saved as Nthq.txt.

Here is part of an example report using NTHQ. Please note that cars, two The ones listed above were not present at NTHQ’s. To determine if these types of devices work with Windows NT, check the latest version of HCL on the Microsoft website or contact the manufacturer of each device.
How do I use a Windows 95 boot disk?
From the Start menu, select Shut down, then select Shut down the computer frequently, click and OK. Insert the boot floppy, wait 10 seconds and turn on the computer again. When you get the A:> prompt, enter your drive letter (eg cd-rom, ) d:. When the light on your CD flashes, it suddenly means that you have access to it.
Remember that when installing Windows NT, there are a number of criteria to consider before choosing one of the available system directories, FAT16 or NTFS. If you are going to dual boot a Windows DOS or 9x PC, use Podium FAT16. If you need a high level of security, remember that NTFS provides a high level of security, including security features not stored in FAT. If Windows NT is the only type of operating system on the hard drive and the drive is causing problems, use NTFS. RISC-based computers must use FAT for the actual partition.
Is Windows 95 CD bootable?
These discs are intended for use with Microsoft Windows CDs. All Windows 9x/me boot CDs, not all CDs contain shoe disks, DOS and doesn’t see the fabulous CD-ROM drive if the driver is loaded.
The following explains exactly how Windows NT is installed, as the second most important operating system on the system, first as the system that undoubtedly has Windows 9x installed, and as the initial operating system on the first system.
The following discussion pertains to installing Windows NT as a default.An additional operating system under the following conditions:
Windows NT installed on PC
Installation based on Intel processors uses dual boot.
The computer has a 2.4 GB hard drive installed.
Disk creates an already created partition: C drive has become 2 GB. The rest of the assembly is not split into sections.9x
Windows is installed on drive C, active partition with FAT16 file system.
Windows NT will be installed in the currently unallocated space, which will become drive d.
Drive C will be the PC partition and drive D will be the Windows NT boot partition. All
- Insert the Windows installation CD Windows nt into the CD. The Windows NT screen saver will start. Click Install Windows NT. (Another way to start the installation is to run Execute winnt.exe in the 1386 directory of the Intel CD-ROM PC).
