Then we need to put these components in the correct folders. In Finder, click the Xvid Alpha device. In the Finder window, you should see another file named Xvid_Codec 1.0 alpha.component. When owners double-click on A52Codec, the .dmg file reads both giant arrows, which usually point the codec files to the folders where they should preferably be placed s (shortcuts to the most desired folders on your Mac).
If you need QuickTime to recognize and play Dolby AC3 audio from movies, copy the AC3MovieImport component to the / Library / QuickTime folder. It certainly doesn’t hurt, and you can enjoy it later.
After that, if you are likely to be using QuickTime, exit QuickTime (Command + Q) rather than just close it, because QuickTime is still running in qualification. You must quit and completely restart QuickTime for QuickTime to load the codecs. Hence, this step is necessary.
Try again by double-clicking the .avi video file and see if QuickTime now displays audio and video.
