Memory and hard drive tested – okay. I tried to repair a boot sector that has different disks. Almost ready to give up and reset 7 wins. The suspected malware can’t tell for sure. I have a computer that just booted up and the startup screen may showblinking cursor (no Windows logo). I tested the memory and hard drive – everything is fine. I have tried fixing the boot area using various commands. Almost done in terms of surrendering and reloading 7 wins. The suspected malware can’t tell for sure. I really don’t want to give up and reboot this machine.

Black Screen of Death is a critical system error displayed by some versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system after fixing a critical system error that could lead to system shutdown.

In Windows 3.x, the black screen of death is a behavior that occurs when a DOS-based application does not start correctly. It was often known that this happened on network connections when trying to perform certain operations while on networks the drivers were in memory.
