Problem
When you open a sketch that contains xrefs, xrefs may not open correctly. Xref paths may be loaded in AutoCAD, or they may be unsafe, poorly referenced, or simply not provided. You can see the correct folder names or xref paths in the xref manager, but your computer It cannot reload problematic xrefs by reconnecting problematic xrefs.

Step 1. Check The Xref Path
Why is my xref not found?
If every file appears as not found, it could be because: you have a bad connection to the location where the xref is stored, or. Invalid path to xref.
1B. Let this IT admin test your network connection to the XRef repository and, if necessary, allow it.
1D. Now carefully check the saved path specified for XRef in the xref manager and compare it to the exact file path in Windows Explorer.
Check every part related to this path,to make sure it exactly matches the path that the file can save. The following example points the path to a different drive letter (X 🙂 in Xref Manager using the drive letter in the Windows Explorer path.
Typically, when this happens frequently, two computers accessing the same project files display their location differently. The connected drive will most likely be different (as in ours or even in the example), the folder in the path may have a slightly different name. For example, it probably contains a hyphen or underscore to indicate a space.
1E. Ask your IT administrator to make sure both computers access shared files from the same form.
1G. Make sure XRef is displayed with the In value loaded in the status column. Then check the saved path against the selected xref files in Windows Explorer to make sure they match.

- Well, the Xref path is now even correct: the problem has been fixed.
- No, the xref path has been reset, or has already been reset, or the xref is still not pre-installed: go to the next step.
Step 2. Find The Nested XRef
If you have a truly broken path and a loose xref, but the fix doesn’t pin properly after saving, the problem might be with the nested xref.
A nested xref is definitely a file that is an xref in many other files, and then this second file is treated as an xref in your drawing – an xref and an xref. This issue is mainly due to the fact that you are creating a file with an attached drawing, not just an overlay, not just an overlay.

1A. Open Xref Manager by typing XREF at the command line of the current line and pressing Enter.
Check the entry above the Status column to find the remaining xref. If the file is displayedIt appears as not found, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- You have a bad connection where this xref is stored, or
- Xref-Trail is incorrect.
1C. If you are sure you have a particularly good connection to the location of this xref, open Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder where this file is located (example: L: My Drive / CAD Drawings).
2A. Check links to external handlers frequently to see which file may also contain the problematic external link file.
For example, if the missing XRef is a planting you planned, you can now convert it to a watering plan, which is then often converted to your traditional pattern.
2 B. Carefully check the external links in the manager to find out who owns the file. Is there a link to the missing file for your main drawing in this particular file?
If you don’t see an external link missing here, check all the other files you added to your mainth file, just as you would draw until you find the missing xref.
Modify the cross-reference path here as needed, as in your vital drawing. Then save the file.
Right click anywhere on the command line and select Options from this menu
Select the Open and Save tab, but make sure the ARX Applications Menu on Load Object Demand is set to Receive Object and Invoke Command.

Why can’t I see my xref in AutoCAD?
Reasons: The XRef file does not offer anything in model space, or all of its content is on the Model tab. Drawing elements are positioned on the layout relative to paper space. AutoCAD only migrates content from the Model tab of the beautiful xref drawing, not from the layout tabs.
How do I get rid of xref not found?
