Troubleshoot And Repair Winamp Not Playing Videos

Good morning !

I’ve been using Winamp since 2005, so I know the history of Winamp. I have never been able to play MP4 videos on Windows 10, but I accepted this fact. I recently installed 5 winamp.666 build 3516. Until a few days ago (Christmas It 2018) .wmv videos played perfectly; then shortly thereafter it stopped playing those Windows Media videos and all other types of videos as you know them currently trying the new Winamp 5.8 (which I haven’t tried before),the same situation: there is NO video on. Play
or cool music and visualizations, but no video yet. I uninstalled, reinstalled and sent back to no avail. I installed older versions (5 versions 3, 5.5) that I found in my downloads, the same problem. I dropped Winamp to 5666 Build 3516 ((patched) so Winamp will no longer play videos on our Windows 10 computer.

I still have a laptop because of Windows 7 (thank goodness!) “Src =” images / smilies / smile.gif “>

No, isn’t this a Christmas tale, it’s a sad truth! Can anyone please help? Thanks for the breakthrough. I miss my videos! (I find out I can get VLC, but there is no need to) want.

MPC comes with built-in decoders, while Winamp relies on external DirectShow decoders to install with your system (similar to how Windows Media Player works).

Close Winamp

Go to Winamp Plugins IN_AVRUN folder
Delete.DLL (Power Reader Third Party Plugin)

Open Winamp again

Go to: Preferences (Ctrl + P)> Plugins >> Enter DirectShow Decoder (in_dshow.dll)> config

Make sure the list of extensions is:

MPG; MPEG; M2V; AVI; DIVX; FLV

Please note that you can add additional extensions if needed, but they can only be played if the required / appropriate Directshow separators and filters are already installed on your personal system.

For example, my current list of subscriptions to the in_dshow extension looks like this:
MPG; MPEG; M2V; AVI; GMO; VOB; RMVB; RM; RA; MKV; AC3; MOV; DAT; FLV; M4V; MP4

HFor example, FLV requires a separate FLV separator to be installed, and for FLV 1 it needs to be compiled in libavcodec in the ffdshow video decoder configuration.

For WMV go to: Nullsoft Windows Media (in_wmdecoder.dll)> config
and make sure WMV is usually in the file type list on the right.
It should look like this:
WMA
WMV
ASF
MMS: //
MMSU: //
MMST: //

Basically the dxdiag log looks ok and I think it is just a powerplayer plugin that probably messed up your winamp.
