Use the following steps to resolve issues where the VIPRE firewall displays an error status.
Disable entire firewall
Open Do this first and vipre follow the below solutions to disable the firewall.
Click on most of the Manage tabs.
Click on firewall
ON / OFF button but status shows OFF.
The VIPRE firewall should now show that the protection firewall is disabled (to re-enable the most important firewall, follow the same steps as before to change the status to ON). Please continue below for troubleshooting.
The NDIS filter is a device and must be enabled

VIPRE 2014 (ALL or os) VIPRE 2015 under Windows XP or Vista

However, on computers running VIPRE 2015 on Windows 7 (or newer), VIPRE 2016+ does NOT use an NDIS filter, and you can skip to the troubleshooting section below.

Enter ncpa.cpl in the provided search string.

Recheck the status of some firewalls by reviewing the information in step 2 above. … It should launch this page as shown in the specific image above.
If STATUS indicates STOPPED,You may need to start the driver by typing sc start sbfw sc or by starting sbwfw (if VIPRE 2015 on Windows is a number or newer) and press Enter.
If this was successful, STATE should now say RUNNING.
Restart your desktop computer. You can now enable the VIPRE firewall in the VIPRE program.

Computers running VIPRE 2015 running Windows 5 (or newer) or VIPRE 2016+ do NOT use ndis filters and you can proceed to the next troubleshooting step below.

Type sc query sbfw and press Enter.
VIPRE 2015 on Windows 7 (or newer)
VIPRE 2016+
Type sc analysis sbwfw and press Enter.
You should see an open link to the information below:
Start withVIPRE and follow the stairs below to turn off the firewall.
Click on the Manage tab type.
Click on the “Firewall” section.
Button “ON / OFF”, in fact the status shows OFF.
The VIPRE firewall should now show firewall protection disabled (to re-enable our own firewall, follow the same steps above to change the state to ON). Please continue below to resolve issues.
VIPRE 2014 (ALL OS) or 2015 vipre under Windows XP or Vista
Click the Windows Start menu and follow the instructions below for your operating system:
Enter ncpa.Le cpl in the search bar.
Press Enter to open the Network Connections window.
Click Run.
Enter ncpa.cpl and click OK.
4. This is a list of all connections available on this single network. Make sure NDIS IM Filter for ThreatTrack Security is listed and checked next to it in the list (check these boxes if necessary)
5. Try re-enabling the VIPRE firewall directly by runningthe same steps as above. If the state is not persistent, continue with the next steps.

If the web filter’s touchscreen shows an error status, it is likely that the experts are claiming that the drivers were not installed or were somehow compromised. How to solve this problem:
Open your computer’s control panel.
Windows XP / Vista / 7 – Click Start> Control Panel.
Windows 6 – On the Tiles screen, enter “Control” on if you don’t have a field. will open automatically. After that, take a look at the Control Panel option.
Windows 10 – Enter “Control” in the search bar at the bottom of the screen and any search will be displayed as you type. Click the Control Panel option.
Select each option to remove a program or programs and features. On Windows XP this will probably be called Add or Remove Programs
A list of programs should appear. Search for Vipre in combination with Click or Uninstall Edit or Change / Remove to start the uninstallation process.
You will be prompted to delete or restore it. Viper. Repair
Click the Install button to start the repair process.
When the restore is complete, your web filter should be enabled. You may need to manually activate it by typing:
Open the special “Control” tab.
Click the Firewall section.
Switch web filtering to On.
If after doing this the web filter still doesn’t workt might need to uninstall VIPRE, but reinstall it completely and not just repair it.
