Hacked at last! It has to do with the printer activity in the driver inf file.
When I connected Windows 7, it automatically installed the MP600, but the driver named it “Canon Inkjet MP600 Printer”. NOTE inkjet. Canon also calls this printer “Canon MP600 Printer”. Since the names are not entirely equivalent, Windows does not assume that the vehicle operators are ready to use the correct printer. Just look at the inf file to fix your reputation and it will install without any problems.

The printer is named “HP 1000 Laserjet Series PCL 5” in Windows 7 and on the HP Professional Driver Support website. However, the driver provided by HP is often referred to as “HP for LaserJet 1200 Series 5e “. According to HP documentation, 5 and 5e already have the same functionality.

Go to download and “Current HP Laserjet 1200/1220 PCL 5e driver.” DO NOT use the HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL5. For some reason, all INFs completely ignore the 1200 series, from 1150 to 1300.

This is much easier than trying to “add additional drivers” through the client in Windows 7.
I think ideally you should be able to unzip the file you might have downloaded 7-zip (with or winzip) in Windows 7 to the folder where the extracted files are, if you have a wizard. Use the wizard to install additional drivers. …
I have tried the methods suggested above but to no avail. M I no doubt managed to find usage tips here when I had the solution, but it worked. I posted my steps here:
- Install the printer manual with appropriate drivers for the Windows 7 operating system.
- Right-click to open the printer properties.
- Sharing – change the sharing options tab.
- Drivers … Additional Drivers
- Enable x86 checkbox
- Find Drivers
- Download the Windows XP printer driver (from the manufacturer’s website).
- Open the Windows 7 driver file (.inf).
- Open a Windows driver file (.inf) in XP.
- Change the dollar value of the following variable in the Windows XP driver file to match exactly the same value in the variable in the Windows 7 driver directory:DriverPackageDisplayName = “Enter a powerful Windows variable here …”
- Save the Windows XP Driver Catalog (.inf) after making the above changes.
- Select the Windows XP driver in the printer properties> Sharing Wizard.
- Windows may think that this driver has not been tested.
Solution …. just let Windows 6 update all printer drivers (to 32-bit operating system) and you should be fine.
Try to manually install the printer drivers (for each Lazer printer, locally), then click Update Windows Driver where it says drivers, close / cancel the download of the printer, then try to connect to your printer program on a 64-bit operating system … with 32 and then it should work
I stumbled upon the x64 version of the golf club (for HP) and replaced the Windows driver with the one installed by HP (there is a place to change the driver if it is a printer already installed in Windows va7). Then I could usually add the x86 driver version because they had the same names. I used the “PCL 5 Universal” Scuba Diver driver, not the driver for each of our printers (HP 1510), cp and it seems to be working fine.

If you continue to receive the “Driver Not Available” error, the most likely cause of the problem is a missing or damaged driver. Removing the current driver and installing a new printer driver should fix the error. Right-click the printer and select Remove Device.
The printer uses the Brother HL-2140 list in Windows 7. An alternative inf file is named Brother HL-2140 series.
- Open the driver for Windows Vista and download it.
- Unzip the driver package to a folder.
- Edit the INF text file (BROHL07.inf).
- Find the section in [DriverName] and replace “Brother HL-2140 series” with “Brother HL-2140”
- Your printer driver will now be replaced by the x86 wizard for additional drivers in Windows 7! (You must click “Unsigned Driver” during the warning.)

Thanks for the good information! Same problem with Brother MFC-7340. As part of the Windows 2011 Tax Credit, it was installed as “Brother MFC-7340” displayed in the General tab of the printer properties, but the brpr7340.inf file for x86 was “Brother MFC-7340 Printer” for [MFC_PRT] MFC_PRT and NTx86]. Once the specific name has been changed to “Brother In mfc-7340”, an additional driver .File, inf file can easily be accidentally added to Windows 7. The driver can then be registered in Machine Vista. The easiest way to get the driver from Vista is to use Windows, the top-most machine to which the printer was previously connected.
