    Last week, some of our readers discovered a bug in Python win32 cygwin. This problem can arise for several reasons. Let’s discuss this now.

    I prefer to use Cygwin packaged in Python with Windows. I need to configure PyBluez, python bluetooth link. I added easy_install with it, no problem. I know it works fine on Windows branded Python as I think PyBluez exe has been installed and tested a bit.

    We may have ideas to modify some python files here in the PyBluez library so they can use both win32 and cygwin:

      if sys.platform == 'win32' or sys.platform == 'cygwin':... 

    Unfortunately, 1) some files need to be changed, 2)and that’s not enough: in the case of PyBluez, when I import the collection, in the file we have __init__.py:

    os.getenv (“SystemRoot”) is correctly set when committing Python for Windows, but is not marked Python for Cygwin.

    So my question is without a doubt this: is there an easy way to get Python for Cygwin to assert that it will boot normally from a Win32 platform with most of the correct environments required? without having to manually edit the library setup files? ?

    Maybe the problem isn’t even possible? (Both versions may well be on Windows, but they are built differently.)

    The question is not limited to building PyBluez, but other libraries as well.

    The system may be WinXP, fully patched, 2 an older version of Cygwin, Python 2.3 for a given Cygwin. I want to “import win32com”, this may result in me needing windows extensions which I have from Mark Hammond have pywin32-20-3.win32-py2.3.exe. I also have ActivePython-2.3.4-233-win32-ix86.msi.

    So I go back to the specific version of Python for the command line (Cygwin) because that’s where I discovered the flush () trick and it works like a hit. But to talk to the gadget, I need “import win32com.client”. When I do this, I get “No module named win32api”. With me out of the way, I’m going to add the [“/ cygdrive / c / Python23 / Lib / pythonwin:”] prefix to sys.path. Now I can “import win32com”. Nice. So I change my script toMy sys.path settings, run python myscript and py, call “No module named pywintypes”

    I also looked at PYTHONPATH with similar results. Something tells me I’m wrong.

    Is there a way to get the Python IDE to honor the flush () request normally? Is it possible to benefit from win32com from the lineup? Command If this cannot be done, I can pipe the call to multiple synchronized threads to do the following:
