There are different versions of the K-Lite Codec Pack. Start with a very small npackage that contains only the most important decoders so that you can create a larger and more extensive package. The general differences between the options can be found below. Detailed differences can be found by comparing the features and content of the pages.
These codec packs are compatible with Windows Vista / 7/8 / 8.1 / 10. Older versions are also XP. Packages contain 2 of the most important 32-bit and 64-bit codecs, so they work great with x86 and x64 variants in combination with Windows!

How do I update my media player codec?
Start Windows Media Player as defined above, then click Tools on the menu bar.Click Options.On the Reader tab, look for Once a day or Once a week under Automatic Updates.Click OK.

This does not have to be a standalone installer. This update requires you to have the latest previous version of Basic / Standard / Full / Mega installed.
