There are different versions of the k-lite codec pack. These codec packs are undoubtedly compatible with Windows Vue /7/8/8.1/10. Older versions using XP as well.

These codecs are not used or required for playback ia video formats.
Important note: The K-Lite Pack codec does not extend the import capabilities of professional video editors such as Vegas Movie Studio or Adobe Premiere. These applications generally only support importing a small set of file formats and do not support the use of the codec types included in the codec pack (DirectShow / VFW). Modern authors often only use their own volume codecs, or only support external codecs such as the Media Foundation.
