How do I compare files in Windows 7?
From the File menu, choose Compare Files. In the Select First File dialog box, find the name of the file you are comparing, click it, and click Open. In the Select Second File dialog box, locate and click the entry name for the second file in the shared comparison, and then click Open.

Besides Windiff.exe, there are other conveniences that can be used to compare local ASCII files as well as binaries, or compare a file in range with a questionable file at the actual remote location.

Since compressing a large, significant file can take a long time, it is usually faster to use the pkzip -e0 (no compression) option. After compressing our files, use the pkzip -v command to check the cyclic redundancy check (crc32) value for .zip files. If the CRC32 values match the remote and local site values, the files match them.
