Over the past few days, some readers have come across a known error message with a faulty application svchost.exe version 5.1.2600.2180, faulty module unknown. This problem can occur for several reasons. We will review them now.

For the past few weeks, I’ve been getting this error right after logging into Windows XP Pro SP2. The only option the system gives me is to terminate the process. If I do it naturally, nothing will be rushed. If I just push the error message aside, my machine runs at its best without any issues.
