try to install ubuntu-11.10-server-i386 on my computer for which I downloaded Universal-USB-Installer-1.8.6.8 as shown below as described in Ubuntu. -Website.Am

I am using a USB stick and install it on my computer and when I use the system I was presented with the following options

Start Ubuntu from a USB stick
Install Ubuntu

I tried to install it on my desktop

  failed to get casper kernel image vmlinuz

After all googling, we all came across the following message that the kernel image could not be found] 1

But cross-checking showed that unfortunately everything is fine with the files that are still installed on the USB stick. I even checked the Md5 checksum of the downloaded ISO image and it is often correct.

Can anyone help me understand what exactly is wrong in the most important process?

Should help if you start after Check Disk for Errors. Select this option (on the computer you are trying to install on) to see if the information on the USB stick is infected with viruses (even if the .iso digit that you wrote to the USB, your lid closes well). It can also indicate problems with the computer’s ability to correctly access the installation media, so it is best to do this on the actual computer on which you plan to install.

If that doesn’t work, try the font on a USB stick. If that doesn’t work, try writing the image to a USB stick using UNetbootin instead of Universal USB Installer. If that doesn’t work (or check the CD / DVD for faults on each USB drive), try using a different USB drive or installthose burn and then load the CD or DVD.
