Find a RAM leak using the PoolMon utility:

(Windows 2000 / XP only) On Windows 2000 and Windows XP, you must use the first GFlags to enable pool tagging. The tag pool is always equipped in newer Windows types. As with Windows, GFlags is included in the debugging tools. Launch GFlags, click the tab “System Registry”, select “Pool Allow Tags” and click “Apply”. Run
PoolMon .
Select the type attached to the pool to include:
- When you have determined that the leak is in the non-paged area, press P once.
- When you have identified the leak in the offload stream, press P twice.
- If you don’t understand, do not press “AND”. Both pool models are included.
Press B and display the maximum byte usage.
Start a personal test.
Take a screenshot and copy it to the editor. Build 30 every minute. Use screenshots to determine which tag bytes have undoubtedly increased.

Find a memory leak with WinDbg (Windows Debugging Tools):

Wait for symptoms of extreme low memory to appear: the system is unresponsive, processes are not running or freezing, or a dispatcher task with high kernel memory usage (paged or non-paged).

Submit the dump file to technical support for analysis.

What causes RAM memory leaks?

If you suspect there may be a kernel mode memory leak, the easiest way to determine which pool tag is associated with the leak is to use the main toolPoolMon. PoolMon (Poolmon.exe) monitors pool space usage by pool tag name. This concept is included in the Windows Driver Kit (WDK).
